mWater/Solstice continues to develop as a powerful tool for mapping water points and managing WASH data. Now, new billing, accounting, and management features are giving water operators the ability to centralize customer, operational, and financial data in the same place.

Democratic Republic of Congo, Yme Jibu Water Service Provider

In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Yme Jibu S.A. is a water utility active in the collection, treatment, distribution, and marketing of drinking water. Across multiple sites, the company uses mWater to:

  • Manage customer and technical databases

  • Track monthly billing and index readings

  • Support prepayment systems

  • Produce performance and accounting reports from collected data

  • Coordinate operations remotely between sites

The platform is also configured to monitor water production and distribution daily, track network performance indicators such as loss rates and non-revenue water, and analyze both technical and commercial performance through dynamic dashboards.

Barry Manegabe, Yme Jibu’s Database Manager, says the new billing, accounting, and management tools have made it easier for them to centralize data, automate monitoring, and generate invoices directly in mWater/Solstice. While there are still a few technical issues being addressed, these updates already help the utility work more efficiently, make better-informed decisions, and improve transparency across its operations.

For Barry, Yme Jibu, and many others, the value of mWater lies in its ability to go beyond water point mapping. By integrating operational monitoring with financial management, the platform supports a more connected and responsive approach to delivering water services.
