Start monitoring right now

  1. Visit explorer.mwater.co and sign up (current mWater users can login with their mWater account).
  2. Check the Map for sites around you or add your own with the +Add button.
  3. Click on Tasks to add functionality, water quality, or sanitary inspection reports.

Free mobile app

  • The mWater Explorer App is available in the Android store or through your web browser window.
  • Based on field-tested mWater technology, the app works online, offline, or on poor quality internet connections.
  • Forms appear as tasks in the app that can be linked to water points or sanitation facilities.
  • View the complete history of public updates at a particular site, or add your own update.

Standard forms and data formats

  • Your data will be compatible with international standards and indicators, including the upcoming Sustainable Development Goals.
  • mWater participates in several international data sharing initiatives, including the Water Point Data Exchange (WPDx) and the WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP).
  • You decide how much data to share; water points and updates can be public or private.

Map and visualize global water data

  • Create and save your own maps to view data any way you like.
  • View and update hundreds of thousands of public data points already in the mWater database.
  • Explorer data is fully integrated with the mWater portal where you can deploy your own surveys.
  • Coming soon: a full-featured dashboard builder for charts, tables, and reports.
